After graduating I moved to Charleston and taught PE/Health and coached lacrosse and basketball. Along with teaching PE I am also the AD here at the school and I coach multiple sports including flag football, basketball, and soccer. Go Mountain Lions!

TMCS, through the thick and thin our world has been through lately, continues to be my dream job, and I wouldn't want to teach anywhere else! I consider TMCS a haven; a bubble, where kids get to be kids, and teachers get to focus on what's truly important--the whole child.

I am married and have 5 children, three of them attended TMCS.  I work with children in and out of the classroom throughout the day to meet the unique needs of each student.

I love teaching at The Mountain Community School because we value teaching the whole child. We value engaging and hands-on learning experiences. We celebrate the individual as well as collaboration and teamwork. I am proud to be part of this community where all members are not only respected, but loved.

My goals as a teacher are to spark curiosity and wonder, allow students to explore and question through hands-on experiences, build empathy and community through literature, and to foster a mindset of life-long learning.

When I first went back to school for my teaching license I knew I wanted to teach at a small school with a strong sense of community. It took a while, but my path finally led me to The Mountain Community School. TMCS is a small school that has a very strong sense of community, and teaching here is my dream job!
